TIME TO JOIN OR RENEW

'Tis the season of WBP's annual membership drive. Memberships run from October 1 to September 30, so if you haven't renewed recently, it's time to update your profile and send in your dues. Dues for one year are $35.00....
FLASH! One Year Only! Recession Special!
For the 2009-2010 fiscal year, WBP membership dues have been reduced to $25.00.  That's right, for one year only, WBP is making membership a better value than ever. For only $25.00, you get to attend most evening programs at no charge (versus $10.00 each for nonmembers), a reduced rate for tickets to the annual awards ceremony, and a copy of the WBP membership directory.

Visit Membership for details, forms, and payment methods.

WHAT'S NEW?

For one thing, WBP is working up a new Web presence. A lot of the site is still under construction, but in the weeks ahead you will see us add new features to our new look.

Never fear, those of you who now have health coverage... oops, we mean those of you accustomed to using our old standbys will again see them here, including the program and newsletter archives, the job bank, and winners of recent Book Design & Effectiveness Awards competitions. We plan to add features about People (job changes, awards), News (feed with publishing stories), photo galleries, and a blog called The Turned Page, where past WBP presidents will be invited to show that the pen is still mightier than the corkscrew.

We will also be adding social media links, a Google datebook to share information on local events of interest to books people, and a discussion board where you can ask questions of your colleagues.

So, bookmark this page and come back soon!
