Marketing Assistant (Part Time), Georgetown University Press

Georgetown University Press seeks a part-time Marketing Assistant to support all departments at the Press by managing and administering its press-wide FileMaker Pro database. The Marketing Assistant will work with staff to make changes and improvements to the database as necessary; maintain the population of sales and fulfillment data; maintain efficient, accurate, and frequent flow of data to all appropriate industry contacts via ONIX feed; manage and administer the Press website by performing frequent upload of information to the site, updating content, analyzing statistics and sales, and ensuring that all the information on the site is correct.

Bachelor’s degree required; up to one year of experience in publishing, preferably scholarly or nonfiction; proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Filemaker Pro or other databases. Excellent proofreading, writing, and organizational skills, as well as ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Editorial Project Manager, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Bethesda, MD 

ASHP seeks an Editorial Project Manager to work within its Special Publishing Division to manage the development of all Special Publishing products including print publications and eLearning courses from contract signature to publication. This individual will oversee all activities and procedures associated with the development of both professional and academic publications including author support, schedule creation and tracking, manuscript reviews and preparation, and management of art programs.

Candidate must have a college degree with a minimum of five years experience in editorial management and product development. Experience in health care a plus.  Should possess
excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Able to work independently and coordinate multiple complex projects.

Freelance Editor, Bernan Press

Due to Budget cutbacks, the U.S. Census Bureau has decided to end the Statistical Abstract
of the United States with 2012 edition. Bernan Press would like to ensure that this invaluable
 reference continues. To that end, we are seeking freelance editors and consultants to format
 large text files; research, collect, and edit large bodies of business, labor, economic, and
other government data; and assist with other tasks associated with this publication. These editors and consultants will work with other members of the Bernan Press staff to ensure the timeliness,
accuracy, and overall content quality of the Statistical Abstract.

The ideal candidates will have a working knowledge of economics and social sciences and
2+ years experience using MS Office, especially Word and Excel. A successful candidate
will have an eye for detail, be able to learn new procedures, and meet strict deadlines. Accuracy
 in the accumulation, assembly, and presentation of these important data is paramount.
